Patients complain of water shortage at Malualkon hospital

Patients at Malualkon Primary Health Care Center are complaining about shortage of drinking and bathing water at the hospital.

“Water has become a problem and as we are all aware that without water we cannot survive because people need water to drink and to even wash clothes. We used to have hand pump which was destroyed and the patients are left with nowhere to drink water from,” said one patient interviewed by a local FM station.

“It is very hard to live without water because when women give birth they normally need water for showering but now it very hard as there is shortage of water like when we gave birth in the evening at around 7:00 and we didn’t get water for bathing till today at around 9:00 in the morning.”

Paul Anei Khon from the water department says he will follow up the issue with hospital management. However, the fficer in charge of Malualkon hospital has refused to comment on the matter, according to the radio station.
