A pastoralist has been killed by livestock bandits in Bahr Grinti County of South Sudan’s Amadi State, a local official said.
Commissioner Emmanuel Majak Brown told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that cattle rustlers killed a pastoralist and wounded a soldier on Saturday. “The attackers killed a cattle keeper and injured one solider,” Majak said.
The local official revealed that the assailants made away with four cows.
The commissioner accused armed youths from Eastern Lakes State of carrying out the attack.
Cattle are a main source of wealth for many communities. Cattle raids and revenge attacks have claimed several lives since South Sudan’s independence in 2011.
