South Sudan’s warring parties have agreed on the outstanding issues on security arrangements, Sudan’s army announced on Thursday.
Sudanese army spokesman Ahmed Khalifa al-Shami announced in a statement that the South Sudan parties agreed on demilitarization of civilian centers, timeframe for integration of forces, formation of a joint security committee, and cantonment sites.
“These points including their different details have been agreed upon in a positive spirit,” the Sudanese military official said.
“The agreement will be signed on a day to be communicated and it will be witnessed by President Omar al-Bashir, the guarantor of the peace talks,” he added.
The South Sudan parties also received the proposed power sharing and submitted their comments on Thursday.
The parties are scheduled to move to the Kenyan capital Nairobi after talks in Khartoum.
