Some participants at Sudan’s National Dialogue in the capital Khartoum have expressed discontent about poor services including problems with transport and accomodation arrangements and with the food catered by the organizers.

Dr. Saad-Eddin Mohammed Al-Tayib, a participant at the National Dialogue, told Radio Tamazuj on a weekly programme broadcast today that the budget allocated for the National Dialogue was insufficient for over 1,500 participants.

He pointed out that they were facing housing, transportation problems and even problems with the meals especially for the participants who were brought from the states. “This problem was raised during the meeting of the committees, there is a problem of accommodation, and there is a problem of transport, even the meals,” he said.

The Secretary General for National Dialogue Prof. Hashim Mohammed Salem previously announced that the allocated budget for National Dialogue reached 190 million Sudanese pounds.

“Honestly, this amount is very small compared to the number of the participants,” commented Saad-Eddin. “There are problems because some participating brothers are members of the armed movements who have come from their areas, also there are members of the political parties who came from the other states.”
