Today’s sitting of South Sudan parliament to deliberate on the 2017/2018 budget in its third reading was adjourned by the speaker.

The speaker Anthony Lino Makana adjourned the sitting until Thursday, saying the sound system was malfunctioning.

In mid-July, the budget was tabled before parliament for approval by the minister of finance and economic planning Stephen Dhieu Dau.

The finance ministry proposed a budget of over 46 billion SSP for the fiscal year 2017/2018. The available resources for the budget include new borrowings.
