The South Sudan Legislative Assembly on Monday adjourned its house business due to lack of printing papers and ink cartridges.

Kom Kom Geng, a Member of Parliament for Aweil East told Radio Tamazuj that the legislators could not proceed with their normal responsibilities due to logistical challenges.

“Yes, I returned from there now because we were told by the clerk that there were no papers and cartridge to print papers for a motion which was raised about current situation and market prices in Northern Upper Nile,” Kom said.

He added that the economic situation in the country has adversely affected the performance of the parliament, saying sometimes they suffer from lack of fuel to run generators or money to buy papers and cartridge.

Kom quoted the Speaker of the Parliament, Anthony Lino Makana as saying that Monday’s meeting is postponed due to logistical constrains.
