The National Ministry of Health in partnership with UNICEF supplied a large consignment of assorted essential medicines to Pariang Hospital in Ruweng Administrative Area over the weekend after eight months.

Benjamin Munybang, the Pariang Hospital administrator, told Radio Tamazuj Monday that the drugs will help fill the shortage they have faced for the last eight months.

“We have received enough drug supplies for the next 12 months and it is a gift which arrived from Juba to help our brothers and sisters in Ruweng Administrative Area and it will support in improving the health situation here,” he said. “I am happy and thankful to the national health ministry and our big partner UNIECF for managing to send us the drug supplies which arrived on Saturday morning.”

“I would like to congratulate the people of Ruweng for being patient and our government for responding on time, particularly at a time when we had a shortage of medicines in the Pariang Hospital, Lake No County, Abiemnhom, and the other areas,” Munybang added.

A resident in Pariang Town, Peter Bol, confirmed the arrival of the drugs and said he hoped they would last a long time.

“The medicines are enough for us we will not have a drug shortage again according to what I witnessed at Pariang Hospital,” he said.  “I am happy now because nobody will go to Pariang market to buy medicines.”
