Pariang authorities return stolen cows to Nuba herders

Local authorities in Pariang County in South Sudan’s Unity State said the security situation is stable in the area after a conflict between local herders and Sudanese pastoralists over cattle at Jau area.

County Commissioner Monylang Manyiel told Radio Tamazuj the situation has claimed after they returned stolen cows to the Nuba tribe in South Kordofan.

He said the cows were stolen by local herders from the area, and that local authorities, native administration leaders, and military leadership intervened to resolve the problem.

The county official apologized to the Muro Nuba clan and the Fallata tribe for what had happened. He also called on the bordering communities to live in peaceful coexistence.
