Parents in El Tadamoun, S Kordofan report rising tuition fees

Parents and guardians in El Tadamoun Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan state report rising of tuition fees due to the high costs of examination results and typing, besides Mujahidin support.

El Saed Abdel-Gadir, a head master at El Zarafa Primary School, told Radio Tamazuj that the administration has decided recently to increase the tuition fees this year.

“First, second, and third year students pay 13 SDG, fourth and fifth year students pay 14 SDG, while sixth and seventh year students pay 17 SDG,” he explained.

The teacher further said the students previously used to pay 3 SDG only.

Abdel-Gadir admitted that the imposed school fees couldn’t be afforded by some parents, adding that students who fail to pay the fees will not be prevented from sitting examinations.

Last week several parents complained about the increasing school fees, saying they were unable to pay.
