Kuac Paramount Chief Joseph Kuol Amet and other three community head chiefs in Warrap State’s Gogrial West County have been reinstated.
The four had differed with the administration of former Governor Kuol Muor Muor before being dismissed.
Those sacked alongside Amet were head chiefs Wol Mathuc Wol, Deng Ajiek Agoth and Madol Aken Kuot.
Amet said he heard about their reinstatement through 99.0FM, the Warrap State owned radio, and that they met the State Local Government Minister, Dr Mawien Atek, to brief him and present copies of their reinstatement letters.
“We discussed administrative issues with the Minister after we were given back our positions by incoming Governor Francis Marial Abur,” he told Radio Tamazuj Monday.
Kuol said the outstanding issue pertaining to the dismissals would be addressed administratively.
“We did not touch the murder of Lual Ngong Thor, which will be addressed by current governor because that was the main issue why we were dismissed,” he said.
Mathuc explained the genesis of the differences with the former administration.
“What happened was that a resident of Kuac North Payam was killed by the state government as per the green book law and no proper investigation was done by state,” he explained.
“Afterwards, children were killed by grenade explosions and we sent a petition to the assembly but we were targeted and dismissed. Today, we have been reinstated and we are here in the Ministry of Local Government,” he said.
Atek and the law enforcement agencies said his ministry would implement any directives from above.
“We held a fruitful meeting with the reinstated chiefs and I have told them to forgive each other and those who replaced them must stop immediately and they can take over their jobs,” he said.
