Over 70 students graduated from the Emmanuel Christian College (ECC) in Yei River County of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria State last Friday.
The school administration said the 60 male students and 14 female graduates from the faculties of business administration, theology, education, and public administration.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony in Yei, Daniel Ohide, the college principal urges the graduates to use their training to serve the nation.
“Today, we are proud to send our graduates with confidence as fully trained people. My dear beloved graduates, go there with confidence, take your rightful position to serve, and make your positive contribution to our beloved nation. I can confidently say, you have everything within you to compete in the job market.”
Meanwhile, Sarah Nene Redento, the deputy governor of the state said, “If we want to move forward in development, we need to teach our children. We teach the children and work on girl child education because these days our children get married at early age girls or boys which is against the law.”
Sarah further revealed that the state government is working to pass laws that will encourage girl child education.
