509 people graduated from a first aid course conducted by the African Training Institute (ATI) in Ibba County of South Sudan’s Maridi State last week.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony at the Freedom Square, Dr. Oliver Alario, a trainer, said first aiders save peoples’ lives in society.
Meanwhile, the state health minister, Dimo Oshea Aburas lauded the institute for having trained more than 1,388 people in the area of first aid in Maridi State.
He said his ministry would equip first aiders with modern health tools to boost their work. “This training was given so that you save lives. We want to give you tools to work with. You will go with modern equipment,” said Dimo.
For his part, the state governor, Africano Mande thanked the health ministry for educating and training citizens on first aid.
“I want to thank the state ministry of health because when we gave orders to make sure training takes place, the ministry did it,” he said.
Headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa, ATI is an international training institution that was established to meet the ongoing needs of the global workforce in the current dynamic business environment.
The institute offers a range of short courses in health, aviation, journalism, business and tourism, among others, designed to improve productivity in government and the private sector.
