More than 500 displaced families have returned to their houses in Lobonok County in South Sudan’s Jubek State after fleeing to the bush during attacks by pastoralists in August, a local official said.

More than 500 displaced families have returned to their houses in Lobonok County in South Sudan’s Jubek State after fleeing to the bush during attacks by pastoralists in August, a local official said.

Gworit Laku, Lobonok County Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the security situation returned to normal and that the displaced people have returned back following the attack in August.

Gworit pointed out that about 500 households decided to return to their houses in the area. He noted that UN agencies distributed tents and food items to the returnees, saying about 150 displaced schoolchildren were also given books and other school materials.
