A one-day conference on peace, good governance and accountability that kicked off in South Sudan’s Aweil State on Monday brought together more than 300 participants.
The conference was attended by several officials including the deputy governor Simon Ober Mawut.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Simon Mawut, the Deputy Governor of Aweil State, reiterated his government’s commitment to achieve good governance in the state.
He pointed out that a new commissioner for the state revenue authority was appointed as part of endeavors to achieve good governance and accountability.
Mawut revealed that a-three year government plan is underway and it will be funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He added that it will help the government to overcome its challenges.
The conference was organized by Help Restore Youth Organization in collaboration with Swedish government and UNDP.
