More than 200 cattle were stolen by unknown gunmen on Wednesday in the Jamjam area of Ruweng Administrative Area, government officials said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Miakol Makuach told Radio Tamazuj that the raiders attacked cattle kraals and when followed, they allegedly entered South Kordofan in neighboring Sudan.
"A security committee has been formed to retrieve the cows, to hold discussions with the government of Southern Kordofan, to recover the cows," Makuach said.
According to him, no lives were lost in the raid.
Radio Tamazuj tried to reach South Kordofan government authorities for response in vain.
