About 122 teachers in Duk Padiet town of Duk County in Jonglei State on Friday concluded a six-day in-service training to help boost the learning process among the schoolchildren there.
The training program was organized by the national NGO Christian Mission for Development (CMD) under the 'Education Can Not Wait' project.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, several teachers said the new skill will help them improve the learning process in schools.
“With this new skill, we will not be the same as before. We received skills on class management, pedagogic methods, and psychosocial support,” Magai John, a school teacher said.
Another beneficiary, Adieny Chuol Nak, called for the extension of the program to the rest of his colleagues, saying he will now be able to adequately educate learners.
For his part, Joseph Mogga, the CMD’s education manager, said the teachers training program is aimed at enhancing the quality of education to ensure the continuity of the learning process and return of the school dropouts, and that 250 teachers will benefit from the program which will run until 2022 in Duk.
