Primary schools are winding up preparation for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in South Sudan’s Torit State, a local official said on Friday.

The exams are scheduled to kick off on November 26.

Torit’s Acting Minister of Education Ongejuk Vitale said that a total of 1,893 pupils are set to sit for PLE in the state. He added that the exam papers will be distributed to 57 centers across the state.

“The state ministry of education has already received the exam papers from the National Examination Council in Juba. We have 773 female candidates and 1120 male candidates,” he said.

Ongejuk pointed out that the county commissioners will collect the exam papers from the National Security office with police escorts.

The state minister urged the candidates to stay focused during next week’s examinations.
