A government official in South Sudan’s Western Lakes State has urged all organized forces to swiftly enforce law and order.

Speaking during a parade of members of the police, wildlife, fire brigade and prison services, the state minister of information, Daniel Cithok Manguen advised the organized forces to exhibit the spirit of nationalism in a responsible manner whenever they carry out their duties.

The parade was held at Rumbek police headquarters last Thursday.

He urged the organized forces to always dress up well in their respective uniforms while on duty.

Cithok warned the organized forces against carrying guns in public.

“I want the police and other organized forces not to carry guns in public places without uniform or when off duty,” he said.

According to the minister, several heinous crimes usually occur in Rumbek, urging the organized forces to find ways of resolving them.

On his part, the state police commissioner, Chol Gorjok said his forces should be answerable for any case raised against them.

He said police personnel should provide adequate security by enforcing law and order.
