The rebel appointed governor of South Sudan’s Fashoda state, Lt. Gen. Johnson Olony Thubo, on Monday issued a series of decrees appointing new ministers, state advisers, county supervisors and assembly members after removing the old senior officials appointed by former governor Maj. Gen. Jokuino Fidel Nyikayo.
According to a decree extended to Radio Tamazuj, Governor Olony appointed John Pagan Lula as the new secretary of political mobilization, Peter Awon as the new secretary of local government, Taban James Chir Kur as secretary of finance, and Musa Akic Kur as secretary of information.
Olony also appointed Daniel Chuogo Obul as the new secretary of physical infrastructure, Nelson Uthou Ungang as the new secretary of education, Bapuoch Kur Papiti as secretary of health, Kowfer Edward Amum as secretary of youth and sports, Victoria Arop Odhong as the new secretary of gender, James Aban Kwong as secretary of trade and investment, Aywok Nyibil Akol as secretary of animal resources and Adwok Arop as the new secretary of agriculture.
In a separate decree, the opposition governor appointed Morris Samuel Oraj as political adviser, John Oraj Nyiker as legal adviser, Daniel Adiang Yak as security adviser, Angelina Bol Kur as the new adviser on gender, Rebecca Thomas Abdullah as adviser on social service, Lina Nyakoth Awow as adviser on cultural affairs and Daniel Akuoch as adviser on rural development.
The top opposition official also named Pasquale John Nykwac as supervisor for Panyikang county, Zachariah Luanyo as supervisor for Manyo county, James Okuc Odhok as supervisor for Pigi county, Peter Juodho Yor as supervisor for Fashoda county and Charles Chol Deng as supervisor for Makal county.
Olony also appointed 21 members of the state assembly.
