Opposition calls for investigation into killing of Kordofan University student

An opposition group in Sudan’s North Kordofan state called on the authorities to form a committee to investigate violent clashes that erupted in Kordofan University Tuesday which led to the killing of one student and injuries to twenty others.

An opposition group in Sudan’s North Kordofan state called on the authorities to form a committee to investigate violent clashes that erupted in Kordofan University Tuesday which led to the killing of one student and injuries to twenty others.

Al-Sadig Mamoun, a member of National Umma Party (NUP) in North Kordofan, said they are calling on the governor Ahmed Haroun to form a committee including all political groups to investigate the incident and bring to justice those responsible.

He denied accusation that political parties in the state are behind the bloody clashes. Mamoun also held the administration of Kordofan University and the ruling Nation Congress Party (NCP) responsible for the crimes committed against the students.
