Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec, chairman of the opposition Democratic Change (DC) party has dismissed six senior members including the secretary -general for allegedly violating the party’s constitution.
The dismissed members are Mark Atem Awol, Lydia Nhial Dok, William Akec Aleu, Kerubino Pow, Andrew Okony Ayom and secretary general Deng Bior among.
Adigo said that the decision came after the six members refused to appear before an investigation committee, saying the dismissed members violated article 55 sub sections 2, 8, 9 and 10 in the constitution.
Onyoti cited article 20 sub-sections (1 and 4) in the party’s constitution to dismiss the six members. “I, Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec, chairman of the Democratic Change party, issue the following resolution, the above mentioned members are dismissed from the Democratic Change party as from 9 January 2017,” reads part of the order.
