A trader from Boma state was killed and four others injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen at Magri area in Mangala County in South Sudan’s Jubek State on Sunday, a local official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Elario Paul, Mangala County Commissioner, said unknown gunmen attacked traders involved in buying and selling of cattle. He pointed out that the incident resulted in the killing of at least one trader and wounding of four others.
The local official noted that one of the attackers was also wounded, saying he was taken to hospital for treatment. Elario pointed out that investigations are underway.
For his part, John Achuan, Minister of Information in Boma State, confirmed the incident, adding that the attack on Boma traders took place in Magri area in Jubek state.
