One soldier killed, 7 injured in battle with SPLM-N: SAF spokesman

The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Thursday that one soldier was killed and seven were injured in battle with the SPLM-North in South Kordofan State.

Brig. Ahmed Khalifa al-Shami said in an interview with Radio Tamazuj that SPLM-North forces have been hitting their positions with machine guns in Abari since the beginning of this week.

“In the beginning of this week there were battles in Abari in which the SPLM-N rebel tried to attack one of our positions. After attacking Abari three days ago the Sudan Armed Forces repulsed them,” he said yesterday.

The spokesman claimed that there were many casualties among the SPLM-North.

But he denied claims by SPLM-North that that there were air strikes by the Sudan Air Forces which resulted in killing of one person and injured seven, among them children, according to the SPLM-North spokesman Arno Ngutulu Lodi.
