A local official in South Sudan’s Eastern Lakes State says that at least one person was killed on Sunday morning in revenge attacks.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Nyang County commissioner Bullen Bol said a group from Kuac-Dit clan attacked Kuac-Thii community killing one person in Majak-Jok area on Sunday.
According to Bol, the attack follows the death of a member of Kuac-Dit clan on Saturday after he succumbed to injuries from a previous attack by Kuac-Thii clan.
Bol said one person suspected to have been part of the attack has been arrested while another one is still at large.
The two clans have been engaged in revenge attacks since November last year.
