Traffic police have announced that one person was killed last night while walking along the Aweil-Aweil East road and the responsible party has not yet been identified.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj this morning, Aweil State Traffic Police Chief Colonel Diing Reech Diing says the incident occurred when a number cars were moving between the two states. He called on the suspects to hand themselves over to a nearby police station to ease investigation process. The chief added that police are deployed to search those who are behind the accident.

“If you are a driver you must protect the people who are walking in the road,” he said, calling on the perpetrator to turn himself in.
