At least one person was killed and another was injured in a cattle raid in Wanglei area in South Sudan's Jonglei State on Saturday.
In statement to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, Commissioner of Twic Centre County Louis Garang said gunmen attacked a cattle camp Saturday and raided an unconfirmed number of cows in his area.
“One person was killed and the number of cattle raided is not yet confirmed. One person was also wounded in the incident,” he said.
The commissioner accused raiders from the Pibor area of attacking his county from time to time.
Earlier this month, an armed group of cattle raiders launched two separate attacks on Duk Payuel and Jalle areas in Jonglei State. The attackers killed 14 people and raided thousands of cattle.
