One man died while two others sustained injuries in an accident along the Torit – Abalwa road on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Osman Onying, 26.
Eastern Equatoria State traffic police Adam Satiro told Radio Tamazuj that the accident happened at around 7:22pm but the cause was unclear.
He said the injured were currently undergoing treatment at the Torit State Hospital
“Yesterday, an accident happened at around 7:22pm, involving three passengers on a motorcycle traveling to Iloli Village,” Satiro said.
The victims were on their way to Iloli Village for an annual traditional marathon festival.
Satiro urged road users not to speed and to observe the traffic code.
The Torit State Hospital Clinical Officer Joseph Adaha confirmed the accident, saying two of the injured were at the facility.
A parent of the injured, who identified himself only as Edir, expressed sadness over the incident.
