The Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC) donated twelve pieces of agricultural machinery this month to local authorities of four counties in South Sudan’s oil producing Upper Nile state.

The donation is a part of the oil company’s contribution to development projects in the state.

Melut County Commissioner Dau Goch told to Radio Tamazuj that they have received the tools which were distributed to Melut, Renk, Maban and Longichuck Counties.

Dau said local farmers are almost ready for this year’s planting season if the government fulfills its previous promises to provide fuel and seeds to counties not severely affected by the civil war.

Dau called upon the authorities to ensure that this year’s agriculture season is successful. He also urged farmers to use the tools donated by DPOC.

The DAR Petroleum Operating Company is a consortium of oil exploration and production companies engaged in oil exploration and production in Melut County.
