Officials in Pochalla County receive displaced people

Officials in Pochalla North County reported the arrival of internally displaced people who are fleeing violence in the Gambella region of Ethiopia, sources said.

Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) officials in Pochalla have not completed registration of the IDPs but they say the number is big. They say the new arrivals are coming from Pinyudo and Gambella areas.

Sources from Pochalla confirmed that the displaced people are living in hard situation as they lack shelter and food.

Separately, an attack at Ogoga and Omiila villages was reported last week leaving one dead and eight children abducted, a source in the county said.
