The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) on Wednesday said its official Facebook account had fallen victim to a hacking incident.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Victor Lawrence Lual, the Secretary General of SSFA, acknowledged the breach and assured the public that the technical team is diligently working to resolve the matter.
“We regret to inform you that our official Facebook page has been compromised. Currently, inappropriate content is being displayed on the page. We want to assure you that our technical team is actively addressing this issue,” stated Lawrence.
Apologizing for any inconvenience caused by this incident, he further emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent future security breaches.
Collaborating closely with Facebook, SSFA said it is conducting a thorough investigation and striving to restore the page to its original state.
Lawrence also cautioned the public against engaging with any suspicious content or messages that may appear on the compromised page.
He reiterated the importance of exercising caution when interacting with social media accounts claiming to represent the South Sudan Football Association.
