Official doubts that Murle committed Bor abductions

The information minister of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area has questioned whether Murle criminals carried out the abduction of two children in Bor town on Monday as alleged by officials in the Dinka-inhabited area.

Bor County Commissioner Isaac Mamer Ruk had accused Murle tribesmen of carrying out the abductions.

He said, “On 8 March 2015, the raiders entered Block Nine. They wounded an old lady with age of 62, and they wounded a small boy under four years and they ran away with a boy and girl, they enter in Bor town, block nine is just near police headquarter, within the town.”

GPAA Information Minister Same David said that in Pibor they heard this news over the radio. He stated, "If it was Murle, why did they leave people outside the town and went and took children inside town? Did they have any evidence to confirm the allegation?"

“Murle have not one time attacked people inside Bor town and if it did happen, it happened outside the town and not inside town,” he stated. He blamed the Bor commissioner for have not having contacted the commissioner of Pibor about his suspicions.

Meanwhile, the wounded victims, the older woman and the small boy, are being treated at Bor hospital.
