The Commissioner of Jur River County in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal State says 1,324 families have fled their homes following attacks by unknown gunmen in the county amid dire humanitarian conditions.
Commissioner Carlo Monyjuang Majak told Radio Tamazuj the families need urgent assistance following his visit to the families with some relief agencies.
He stated that citizens fled their homes due to different attacks by unknown gunmen who crossed from Bagari on 19 March. The commissioner also pointed out that the area is facing food shortages due to unsuccessful agricultural season last year.
