Nuba women graduate from skills training in Yida

A group of 45 women graduated from a skills training last Friday in Yida refugee camp. It was the third batch of graduates from the training center. The graduation ceremony was attended by many people, organizations and various women’s groups. The ceremony featured cultural exhibitions and distribution of certificates for the training, which had lasted about two months, from October until December. The graduates for their part expressed their gratitude and thanks to the Samaritan’s Purse organization that set up the training center for the women, and contributed a special thanks to the teacher Jennifer Robinson, who led the training. Activities at the center include sewing, embroidery work, and using different types of local materials to make objects like pouches, mattresses and diapers. The trainees appreciated the training and said that they have gained skills for how to generate some income for their families.
