Nuba leader accuses RSF of killing 100 people

Lieutenant General Mohammed Marko Kuku, a leader in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan State over the weekend revealed that at least 100 people were killed and others injured in the area by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the last few days.

However, he did not provide details about the exact location where the killings took place in the Nuba Mountains region. 

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Gen. Kuku said that elements of the RSF also burned several farms and warned that these attacks would drag the region into the war.

He stressed that they are currently working to address the dire humanitarian situation in the Nuba Mountains in coordination with the Government of Sudan which is now stationed in Port Sudan.

SRF officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

According to media reports, Habila Locality in the Nuba Mountains region has witnessed incursions and attacks by the RSF after the interruption of telecommunication services in the country two weeks ago.

Since 15 April, Sudan has witnessed military confrontations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces which led to the killing of thousands and displacement of millions inside and outside Sudan.
