Authorities in Northern Liech State on Monday launched sporting activities across the state as a way to foster peaceful coexistence among the youth of the different ethnic groups in the state.
The governor Joseph Nguen Monytuil said sports are important in rebuilding social relations for the youth who were adversely affected by the on-going conflict in the country.
"The role of sport in rebuilding relationships; sport and peace building at the grassroots and nation-state level is vital for the reintegration of child soldiers who came out recently from the conflict," he said.
Monytuil encouraged all schools in the state to prioritize sports as part of peace building activities
Last week, governor Monytuil while visiting Machakos Primary School in Bentiu said sports for both boys and girls are integral in rebuilding trust among the youth and the population at large.
