Members of the Northern Liech state parliament on Wednesday voted to impeach the commissioner of Rubkona County, Stephen Salam Maluit.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, the head of the parliamentary committee for information, Duer Khor said the decision was taken after the commissioner failed to appear before the parliament to answer questions about a tragic incident in which three children from one family died in his county.
He pointed out that three children died after they fell into a pit near the county headquarters.
For his part, Salam Maluit denied knowledge of the decision taken by the state assembly. He said he was in Juba for medication attention.
