The members of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State’s Legislative Assembly yesterday held their final session before going for a three-month vacation.
The state parliament held a closing ceremony for the closing session attended by acting caretaker Governor Salva Chol Ayat, Assembly Speaker Makau Ayok and other officials.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj at the parliament premises, the Chairperson for the Information Committee Achak Thiep Thiep said, “Today we have closed our assembly for recess – only three months – we should be back on 5 November 2015.”
He said state lawmakers committed to go back to their respective constituencies and raise awareness among their people about the peace talks ongoing between the government and rebels led by Riek Machar.
