Northern Bahr el Ghazal distributes traffic guards to comply with 28 states

Traffic guards in Northern Bahr el Ghazal have been distributed to the proposed states of Aweil, Lol and Aweil East. The distribution aimed to comply with President Salvia Kiir's decision to change the number of states in South Sudan from 10 to 28.

“We in the former Northern Bahr el Ghazal state have divided all traffic police forces into three parts: Aweil state, Lol state and Aweil East states. All these three states have received new traffic police officers and guards,” said Aweil State Traffic Police Chief Diing Reech in an interview.

However, Reech said that although each state has its seperate traffic police, Aweil state will still approve vehicle licenses because it is still the regional headquarters.

“New states do not have proper authorization tools. We urge every citizen to start the licensing process in your respective states, and the last approval will be done at center state of Aweil,” Reech said.
