The Acting Governor of North Darfur State, Al-Hafiz Bakheet, on Tuesday, inspected the operations and services at the Civil Registry and Passport Administration during his visit to the North Darfur State Police Headquarters in Al Fasher.

He was received by Brigadier General Ayoub Abdulrahman Hassan, the Director of the State Police, and Colonel Adam Amin Ismail, the Director of the Civil Registry.

The governor praised the efforts of the regional government and the police in providing services amidst the current circumstances, announcing his unlimited support for the police to continue services and facilitate procedures to ensure that citizens obtain identification documents, especially since Al-Fashir hosts IDPs fleeing from the wars in Sudan.

Furthermore, Governor Bakheet pointed out the security stability in Al-Fasher and thanked the efforts of the regular forces, armed movements, and popular support.

“Al-Fasher will remain safe due to these efforts and I emphasize the government’s commitment to providing necessary services to citizens,” he said. “This visit is part of the inspection of the Civil Registry and Passport Administration. This department stopped operating for a period due to the security conditions in the state.”

“I am happy about the resumption of work, passport issuance, and related civil registry procedures,” Brig. Bakheet added.

On his part, Brig. Ayoub Abdulrahman Hassan, the Director of the State Police, stated that his officers are working tirelessly to serve the masses.

“The police forces are working around the clock and procedures are progressing as planned,” he reported. “Passport and civil registry operations resumed over two weeks ago.”

He added that they are working on opening new outlets, especially for pilgrims to the Holy Kaaba, and praised the governor’s support in equipping the police forces to fulfill their role.
