Nearly 6,000 conflict-displaced people from the Wau Shilluk area who sought refuge at the United Nations base in Malakal town are facing critical shortages of food and shelter, they told Radio Tamazuj.
Mathew Bichok, the head of the peace and reconciliation committee inside the UN base, told Radio Tamazuj the arrivals have come in recent weeks. He said some of the new arrivals have been transported to a new site from the places where they have been waiting.
A source close to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said incomplete arrangements have delayed distribution of aid assistance.
