The governor of Wau state said there is no reported security threat for the town of Wau after the government said the former army chief Paul Malong was ordering his associate to attack Wau airport. The government cited an audio recording obtained by its intelligence services recently.
“We have no any security threat. We are okay in Wau and we are peaceful. There is nothing until now,” Angelo Taban Biago, governor of Wau state, told Radio Tamazuj.
He pointed out that the security situation is generally stable after the signing of the ceasefire agreement.
Reportedly, the commander of SPLA’s 5th infantry division in Wau state, Maj. General, Michael Majur Alier has instructed his forces to remain alert in case of any attack.
