The suspect in a case allegedly involving corruption at the presidency says that the trial cannot continue because his defense lawyer has not showed up in court.

Advocate Kiir Chol Deng, who was defending John Agou and another eight other persons, was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by National Security in front of the court last week.

John Agou told the judge, “We can’t continue with the legal process until we appoint our new lawyer.”

The high court juge gave John Agou one day to look for a new lawyer or else he will look for another lawyer.

Advocate Chol and his entire team appear to have quit the case. Meanwhile, they have presented a petition to the court to issue an injunction barring the National Security from inside the court during the trial.
