No invitation yet for South Sudan to attend joint meeting with Sudan in Addis Ababa

South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has not yet received any invitation from the AUHIP led by former President Thabo Mbeki to attend a meeting of the Joint Political and Security Mechanism between with Sudan in Addis Ababa.

Last week, Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour, announced that the Joint Political and Security Committee between Sudan and South Sudan will be convened on 8 and 9 May to discuss the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed on 27 September 2012."

But Mawien Makol Ariik, Spokesman of the ministry of foreign affairs, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the government of South Sudan has not yet received any invitation to attend the meeting with Sudan.
