Hundreds of South Darfur refugees who are currently in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr al Ghazal are facing worsening humanitarian conditions, a relief official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Kuel Deng, who is in charge of the humanitarian affairs department in Aweil state, said the Sudanese refugees who are mostly women and children lack food, water, medicines and shelter.

Deng noted that some UN agencies provided some food in the area last month, but he said the food distributed was not sufficient to the whole population. Kuel appealed to humanitarian agencies to come to the aid of the Sudanese refugees in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
