Jackdieng Gatkek, the program director for the NGO says the objective for the tournament was to bring youth together and share ideas. The other aim he was to support the wellbeing of youth in emergencies.
The winners walked away with four balls, two nets, a pump and Nile Star T-shirts bearing child protection messages. The loser Naath Star team was not given anything but encouraged to win the next match
Another match was organized for the adults on Friday in the PoC in Juba. The next will be for under eighteen players next week on Tuesday.
With Support from UNICEF, Nile Star Global is doing child protection activities, family tracing and re-unification in Unity State areas of Koch, Buaw, Duar and Bentiu. It is also expending its operation into Juba PoC in the UNMISS IDPs camp.
The teams appreciated the initiatives saying they will unite the youths who have been isolated from many activities because they have been forced to stay in the protection camps.
