Gunshots were heard in the Jabarona area of Juba at around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The armed group that controls the city says it clashed with criminals in the area.
SPLA-Juba spokesman Philip Aguer said the shots were fired when a patrol of soldier and police intercepted suspected criminals in Jabarona near Giyada barracks.
“That was a clash between armed criminals with a night convoy in Jabarona area – we are still waiting for a report from the joint patrol,” he told the UN radio service.
