Ngok Dinka ready for Aweil peace conference

Bulabek Deng Kuol, paramount chief of the Ngok Dinka in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan says they are ready for a peace conference with the Misseriya Arab tribe in Aweil next week.

Bulabek Deng Kuol, paramount chief of the Ngok Dinka in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan says they are ready for a peace conference with the Misseriya Arab tribe in Aweil next week.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the Ngok Dinka tribal leader said peace requires the recognition of rights and discussion on pressing issues not just focusing on procedural matters in the conference.

He explained that the success of the peace conference won’t be determined wide participation, but rather it needs seriousness from the parties involved to achieve peace.
