A two-day peace conference between youths from the Misseriya and Ngok Dinka tribes was concluded on 26 October in Amith village in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan.
The youth’s conference was supported by the British-based organization Concordis which is trying to bring reconciliation between the two peoples.
Gakuoth Kai, Director of Programs in the organization, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the conference aimed at bolstering the role of youths in peace-building between the two tribes.
He pointed out that about 100 youths from each side attended the peace conference in the area. Gatkuoth added that the conference included trainings on social issues and conflict resolution.
