Ngok Dinka chiefs urge two Sudans' governments to support peace in Abyei

Traditional leaders from the Ngok Dinka tribe in Abyei area have called on Sudan and South Sudan to support peaceful initiatives between the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya communities to avoid further clashes.

The call comes after a recent attack by an armed group on Amiet joint market.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, Bulabek Deng Kuol, Paramount Chief of the Ngok Dinka tribe, said the two governments should support peaceful coexistence in the disputed region during this year’s rainy season.

He appealed to the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (UNISFA) to deploy forces in the whole region to provide security.
