Ngok Dinka chief welcomes Misseriya herders in Abyei

The acting paramount chief of the Ngok Dinka in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan has welcomed the Misseriya herders.

Chief Pagod said preparations are underway to hold a small meeting between Ngok chiefs and Misseriya leaders in the coming days to discuss ways of protecting the headers and providing water.

He told Radio Tamazuj they have told UN peacekeeping mission UNISFA to secure the meeting.

Meanwhile, the chief said a proposed conference between Ngok Dinka and Missiriya tribe in Diffra area in northern Abyei has been postponed because of reluctance from Sudan's government.
